Watford have signed M’Baye Niang on loan from AC Milan until the end of the season.
The striker arrived this morning for his medical and to whittle down the details of his personal terms with Walter Mazzarri’s side, who have the option to make the move permanent in the summer.
It had been reported the deal would be on loan for £636,000 with an option to buy for another €15m. It’s suggested the option will become obligatory if the French forward scores 10 Premier League goals.
Niang turned 22 last month and has been at Milan since leaving Caen in August 2012. He had loan spells at Montpellier and Genoa, but this is the first time he has gone with an option to buy. This season he scored three goals with three assists in 18 Serie A games. Niang leaves Milan with 12 goals and 10 assists in 77 competitive appearances.
